Questions
What kind of clients do you prefer?
We love clients who are passionate about how they are changing their world and who want to take risks to captivate their audiences. Great communicators & those who have money would be nice too.
What makes you different?
We like to make waves. Our belief is that if a video is boring to make, it’s likely boring to watch. We bring an energy that translates into our finished videos. We work hard with relentless optimism to create something great. Not sure if that’s different, but that’s the MRP way.
How much does it cost?
The more resources we have to work with the higher quality the video will look – more charismatic actors, fun props, more eye-catching cinematography, etc,. We aspire to create videos of professional standard and we hope that you want that too. On our lower end you’re looking at $5k, but for a standard explainer video you’d looking around that $8-10k range. That being said we’ve created $10k videos that people have compared to companies who make $200k videos.
Can you make a viral video?
We can tell you what could go viral and work to hook audiences as best as possible, and we can also tell you where a video won’t go viral due to convoluted jargon or non-committed storytelling. But no… We can’t promise that. There’s no clear formula for viral.
Do you collaborate with marketing agencies?
Of course! We love working with other creatives and experts.
Do you collaborate with marketing agencies?
Of course! We love working with other creatives and experts.
What's the process?
The process usually starts with you sharing your heart with all it’s beautiful dreams & ideas. We want to hear you & your goals. If you have a budget you want to work within, that is helpful too. But really it all starts when we get in touch.
Where do you film?
All freaking over! We’ve been from Vancouver to Montreal. But we’re proudly located in St. Catharines, Ontario. So most of our work is from Niagara to Toronto.
Where do I pick up equipment from?
Our address is 3 Lowell Ave, Unit C1. We’re on the ground floor of a multi-unit red brick apartment building. The door beside the MRP sign.
When are you open?
We’re around Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, as long as we’re not on a shoot. We can also make special exceptions for after hours or weekend pickups/dropoffs.
When can I pick up the gear?
You can either pick up your gear the day of your shoot as early as 10:00am, or you can arrange to pick up your gear the day before anytime between 2pm & 5pm, we wouldn’t charge you for those extra hours! Either way, please let us know so we’re ready for you.
When can I return the gear?
Gear is due back no later than 11:00 am on the return date, or feel free to drop it off earlier if you’re done earlier (during our business hours of course).
What if I can’t return the gear on time?
We get it, things can sometimes run long, and you may not be able to make it back on time. Please call us with as much advance notice as possible. If you don’t show up, we’ll be forced to charge you an extra half day rental.
Can I pick up or return gear after hours or on weekends?
To return gear, sure! We can arrange something. Picking up gear is a little tougher, and more involved, so we may have to charge you an extra $25 for after hours pick up. That’s where communication comes in though, its a conversation, and we can try to be as accommodating as possible.
What if my shoot is on a weekend?
If your shoot lands on a weekend, come pick up the gear on friday, and drop off the gear monday before 11:00 am. We can also arrange something different if need be.
What if I don’t show up to grab the gear I booked?
If you paid a deposit, we get to keep it (fine by us, its free money). However, you may end up on “the list”, and you don’t want that.
What is your cancellation policy?
For clients who are booking gear longer than 7 days in advance, we may ask for a 50% deposit on the gear rental fee. If you decide to cancel your rental within 72 hours of the rental, we will keep 50% of that deposit and return the other 50% to you. If you cancel within 24 hours of your rental, we will keep 100% of the deposit. The reason for this is because by booking the gear out for you, we are saying no to other potential customers, and therefore losing potential income.
What do I need to bring to rent your gear?
Please bring a valid photo id, as well as a credit card with enough free space to cover the value of the gear (we will let you know how much that is beforehand). We put a hold on your credit card for the full amount of the value of the gear. When you bring the gear back in good working order, we remove the hold.
What if I don’t have a credit card or enough free space on one?
If you don’t have enough room on your credit card, you can bring someone who does, purchase insurance through us, or bring proof of replacement insurance for the full value of the gear, naming us, Mitchell Reilly Pictures at 3 Lowell Ave, Unit C1, St Catharines, ON, L2R 2C7, as the loss payee.
Aren’t you insured?
We are insured, but that only covers us. Once you walk out of the building with the equipment, it’s your responsibility.
What happens if I lose, break, or steal gear?
If you lose it, you buy it. If you break it, you pay for the repair. If you steal it (or refuse to return it), we will track you down, and we will get the value of our gear back. We really don’t want any of this to happen, so please treat our equipment well, and communicate. We know that things happen, be up front and be honest.
What happens if a piece of gear is broken, or has missing parts when I rent it?
Let us know right away! It’s your responsibility to check over the equipment while at our office, it’s like a walk-around when you rent a vehicle. We do our best to keep everything up to good working standards, but please let us know. You have 24hrs after signing the rental agreement to let us know of anything. After 24hrs, it will be your responsibility, unless its damage that we already know about.
What happens if I damage a piece of gear, return it, but don’t tell you?
Honesty is the best policy, it’s great in a relationship & rental gear! Plus, you can sleep at night. But I we discover that damage within 5 business days of the agreement being signed, we will be in contact for an explanation, and payment for repair or replacement.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, e-transfer, visa, mastercard & debit. No paypal, no cheques. Generally, most people pay with the credit card they use for the hold, but if you’d like to pay another way, just let us know.
Can I get a deal?
It kind of depends on what you’re looking for, and how long you’re looking to rent it for. Let’s have a conversation!
Can you deliver?
What do you think this is? Skipthedishes? Kidding. Yes, we can, for a price. Please ask us about this beforehand.
